Company Profile
SpaceX was founded by Elon Musk, in 2002, with the mission of making life multi-planetary. Based in California, the company manufactures rockets and spacecraft and is known for being the first private company to launch and return a spacecraft from Earth’s orbit and to launch a crewed spacecraft that docked with the International Space Station (ISS). Its reusable rockets and launch systems considerably reduce space flight costs compared to other players in the industry. The company has secured multiple contracts with NASA and the U.S. Air Force, further establishing its credibility. Today, SpaceX is the largest rocket launch service provider in the world. SpaceX also provides internet services through its Starlink Satellite Internet Program, designed to offer high-speed internet access to remote areas where broadband isn’t readily available. SpaceX is backed by major investors such as NASA, Alphabet, D1 Capital Partners, T.Rowe Price and more.
